Steve Reich's City Life, an iconic work of American minimalism, conjures up an urban landscape constructed from the sounds of New York—sirens, voices, horns, everyday noises—written for 14 instruments.
The students of the OSAMU&Co ensemble reinterpret the score live, interacting through movement with a choreography devised by the teachers and students of the École Nationale de Danse de Marseille.
Between sound immersion, choreographed movement, and collective performance, City Life unveils a vivid portrait of the modern city.
