Rehearsal residency for a quintet organized by Jean-Marc Montera.
TEKAAT brings together three unique figures in experimental music: Guigou Chenevier, Jean-Marc Montera, and Pierre Luciani. Three personalities, three distinct paths, yet a shared passion for improvisation and sonic exploration. Blending raw energy, attentive listening, and a subversion of conventions, their music is created in the moment. Each encounter becomes a playground where rhythms, textures, and silences are invented on the spot.
TEKAAT: free, radical, and unpredictable music, where the unexpected is the norm.
A French guitarist with a rock background, specializing in free improvisation and sound experimentation, Jean-Marc Montera uses the entire range of amplified and acoustic strings - resonance, percussion, distortion, extensions and detour of all kinds. Among the most active musicians in the field of improvised music, he has been multiplying his encounters and contacts with other artistic worlds since the 1970s, to the point of blurring the "barrier" between genres.
Pierre Luciani
guitarist, singer-songwriter
Born in Marseille to a family of Corsican musicians, Pierre Luciani is a guitarist and singer-songwriter. His career is characterized by a strong penchant for eclecticism and sonic experimentation. He has developed a style that blends guitar, improvisation, traditional music, electronic music, and musical research. His work has also led him into performance art, theater, and dance. He has collaborated with numerous artists, including Jean-Marc Montera, Edmond Hosdikian, Manu Théron, Alain Blesing, and Senem Diyici. In particular, he participates in projects involving improvised and experimental music, such as Tekaat and the Amorchestra. His approach is notably inspired by his Corsican roots, which he reinterprets through the acoustic guitar and improvisation. He also works on personal projects under the name Galavar. In 2024, he developed a repertoire of Corsican songs adapted for solo acoustic guitar. His artistic journey thus lies at the intersection of improvised, contemporary, traditional, and electronic music.
