TAKE is the new creation by choreographers São Castro and António M Cabrita, produced by Companhia Instável (Porto, Portugal).
Its title TAKE reveals the cinematic inspiration that guided the choreographic writing of this piece for 5 dancers.
The duo called on electroacoustic composer Sarah Procissi to create the sound. " With this creation, there is a desire to extend the physical space in which action and sound take place, creating dialogues between what is heard and what is seen - or not seen (a memory, a place) ". Beyond the notion of "sound in the image", Sarah Procissi will question the narrative powers of sound, focusing her research on the possibilities offered by the relationship between sounds and the imaginary worlds suggested by choreography.
Her creation will be based on sound recording, sound processing using modular synthesizers and synthesis.

Sarah Procissi
composer
An electroacoustic composer and oud player based in Marseille, her work focuses on contemporary creation and Mediterranean music. Her first experiments were with musique concrète, then she composed pieces based on field recordings and collections made during her travels in the Orient. In demand by the performing arts, she has created several works, notably with choreographers Eric Oberdorff (Cie Humaine) and Silke Zimmermann (Cie Resistdance, Cologne). Driven by the desire to combine her instrumental and electroacoustic practice, she founded CLAMEURS in 2021 with double bassist JC Bournine, a duo fusing string timbres and the electronic textures of his modular synthesizer. In a more traditional aesthetic, she performs in the oriental duo Mazhar with singer-percussionist Julie Lobato. Today, she focuses on exploring the link between oriental characteristics (maqamat, rhythms, ornamentation) and contemporary writing. Her work has been supported by various grants and presented at international festivals.
