The aim of this seminar is to analyze the general concepts of the film & music relationship.
This relationship gives particular importance to musical and sound composition for experimental films.

The pedagogical approach will be based on the analysis of the compositional tools employed, which will be studied along two main axes:
- the technological dimension of musical/sound composition for experimental cinema;
- the extra-musical analysis of the themes addressed in the films.

Seminar structure
The seminar will be structured around two types of sessions:
The first two sessions will consist of two screenings (each lasting 90 minutes) aimed at showing different types of experimental films, accompanied by an explanation.
The following sessions will be practical sessions, aimed at guiding participants in the electroacoustic composition of several experimental short films, which will then be created during a presentation on June 4, 2026.

This seminar is open to all Platform partners.
Its content is tailored to the needs of students from the various institutions.
(The duration of practical sessions may depend on the number of registered participants).
