Soleil Blanc offers visitors an emotional and reflective experience featuring a flow of images, sound and light.

Housed in a wooden barracks, the installation features a military operating table on which a staff map from 1918 is animated: as small metal objects are moved around, the sound and visual environment changes, adapting to the site and its history. The sounds of nature and bombs mingle with instrumental sounds, creating an atmosphere that is both realistic and dreamlike. Facing the barracks, animated archive images recomposed by visual artist David Coste are projected onto three wooden panels.
Reworked by the artist, the soldiers' portraits, originally intended for propaganda purposes, reveal the violence of an unprecedented conflict: the original cheerful, pastoral backgrounds now give way to bomb-ravaged landscapes.
