The "creation" course has been designed by GMEM to enable school audiences to explore the vast field of creative music: contemporary, experimental, electroacoustic, and electronic music.

Spanning an entire school year, the "creation" program aims to provide students at Lycée Frédéric Joliot Curie, specializing in circus arts, with the keys to listening and understanding, while awakening their artistic sensibilities through the production of a musical composition that will be performed at the end of the workshops. It is tailored to the challenges faced by schools and the approaches taken by teaching teams.

The introductory workshops, the first milestone in this journey, allow school audiences to attend a session discovering the tools and languages of contemporary music creation. Accompanied by Nathalie Ong, students are introduced to the world of the sound artist.

The second part, which takes the form of a school trip to the Janots cave in Cassis, aims to collect sounds in situ in order to reflect on and design the beginnings of a sound or musical production, in the presence of sound artist Nathalie Ong.

The third part of the creative process takes place in the GMEM studios and aims to introduce students to studio recording techniques and sound editing and mixing software.

The students' creation will be presented on June 5, 2026, at Archaos — Pôle national Cirque.
