For several years, the Ensemble Accroche Note has been offering programs of chamber music combined with electronics
With these two works by Pierre Jodlowski and Philippe Manoury, the ensemble brings together classical instruments (voice and clarinet) and modern technologies.
The poetess Alda Merini, from the age of 16, shows signs of a chronic depression that will not leave her during her lifetime. She calls this disease "ombra della mente" (shadow of the thought) and will project all her art by looking for an exit by the writing. This notion of shadow, of contamination of the linear and living thought, constitutes the metaphor of the process of musical writing which is implemented for Ombra della Mente by Pierre Jodlowski.
lllud Etiam has its origins in Ingmar Bergman 's Seventh Seal : a woman does not utter a word and says, only at the end of the film with a "Finally!" when she sees death approaching. It is this image that provoked in Philippe Manoury the desire to compose this work.
