A unique and fascinating sonic journey, where writing and improvisation meet to explore new territories. Fabrizio Cassol on saxophone, Adele Viret on cello and Lorenzo Bianchi Hoesch on electronics combine their artistic sensibilities in a profound and innovative dialogue.
The band moves between complex, sustained electronic rhythms that serve as the backdrop for a choral, dreamlike, enveloping music, capable of shifting from quick, precise moments of writing to vast, layered, improvised soundscapes.
The lines of the saxophone, the warmth of the cello and electronic textures merge in an immersive experience that blends contemporary jazz and electronic music in an original and personal way.
At the heart of this musical proposal lies the search for microtonal harmonic freedom, where the subtlest nuances and hidden colors of the notes emerge in a profound dialogue between the instruments.
In this project, the balance between compositional writing and free improvisation creates a continuous interplay between structure and spontaneity. The music is never predictable: each performance becomes a unique event, where resonances and silences alternate with explosions of energy and complexity.
It's a celebration of listening, creative risk-taking and the transformative power of music.
Fabrizio Cassol, saxophonist and composer, with his group Aka Moon and collaborations of all kinds and horizons, has studied, experimented and integrated instrumental techniques from cultures far removed from traditional Western harmonies.
Cellist Adèle Viret is also interested in distant cultures and has developed a highly personal approach to the instrument.
Lorenzo Bianchi Hoesch, musician and electronic composer, develops fluid electronics, largely based on real time, escaping from classical electronic approaches towards a singular, personal path.

Lorenzo Bianchi Hoesch
composer, sound artist
Lorenzo Bianchi Hoesch is a composer and sound artist. His interests range from pure electronics to compositions for theater and dance, from soundtracks for images to interactive installations. In his compositions, he is always interested in the idea of establishing new connections between otherwise distant elements. This has led to projects outside Western aesthetics, such as those with Ballaké Sissoko and Amir Elsaffar, immersive sound installations such as Square for Ircam - Centre Pompidou and Atolls for the Musée du Quai Branly in Paris, and collaborations with choreographers and directors such as Adolphe Binder, Michele di Stefano, Richard Siegal and Stijn Celis.
Much of his work is devoted to 3D sound, multichannel and holophonic composition. He has received commissions from various institutions: Ircam-Centre Pompidou, Groupe de Recherche Musicale (GRM), Biennale di Venezia, Göteborg Opera, Musée du Quai Branly, Saarbrucken Opera, Ballet National de Marseille, RhurTriennale, Fondation Royaumont, Face Foundation, Haydn Foundation, and many others.... and has performed all over the world.
Lorenzo is Villa Albertine 2025 Laureate, was 'Composer in Research at Ircam-Centre Pompidou 2019-2023 and teaches composition at COnservatoire de Montbeliard.
Fabrizio Cassol
composer, saxophonist
Belgian-born Fabrizio Cassol is composer and saxophonist with the group Aka Moon. His regular collaborations include choreographers Alain Platel(VSPRS, Pitié!, Coup Fatal, Uit De Bol, Requiem pour L.), Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker, Lemi Ponifasio and Faustin Linyekula; opera composer Philippe Boesmans and director Luc Bondy; and playwright Brett Bailey(Macbeth).
His interest in non-European music was sparked by a trip to the Aka Pygmies of the Central African Republic in 1992, which led to the study of the links between orality and musical writing. Numerous encounters and collaborations testify to this: Malian diva Oumou Sangare, griot Baba Sissoko, master Indian percussionist U.K Sivaraman, Senegalese musician Doudou N'Diaye Rose. With his group Aka Moon, he developed the Aka Balkan Moon projects, including Bulgarian musicians, and AlefBa, steeped in Arab music. He shares the improvised music scene with Marc Turner, Robin Eubanks, David Gilmore, Magic Malik, Marc Ducret, Joe Lovano... With DJ Grazzhoppa, he creates the first big band of fourteen DJs. With instrument maker François Louis, he helped design the Aulochrome, the first chromatically polyphonic wind instrument. He was in residence at the Brussels opera La Monnaie / De Munt under Bernard Foccroulle between 1998 and 2007. Then, until 2016, he collaborated with the KVS (Théâtre Royal Flamand de Bruxelles) under the direction of Jan Goossens, working closely with RDCongo. Between 2012 and 2015, he was in residence at the Fondation Royaumont, where he continued his study of world cultures. He regularly gives workshops and master-classes, notably at the CNSMD in Paris, the Royal Academy in London, the Edward Said Conservatory of Music in East Jerusalem, as well as in Algiers, Beijing, Berlin, Chennai, Tunis... Since 2014, Fabrizio Cassol has been musical director at the Aix-en-Provence Festival of the cross-cultural creation sessions (Medinea) of the Orchestre des Jeunes de la Méditerranée, a formation open to young improvising musicians from the Mediterranean basin, coming from the world of jazz and traditional Mediterranean music.
Adèle Viret
cellist, improviser
Born in 1999, Adèle has followed an eclectic career path, varying the cello's place within multiple musical aesthetics. From an early age, Adèle studied classical cello at the Conservatoire de Montreuil, and went on to perfect her skills at the CRRs of Rueil-Malmaison and Saint-Maur-des-Fossés. She studied with Hélène Silici, Nadine Pierre, Matthieu Lejeune and Didier Poskin, and in 2023 obtained a Bachelor's degree from the Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles. At the same time, she has established herself in the professional world as a member of improvised music, jazz and world music projects, and has performed alongside the likes of Magic Malik, Fabrizio Cassol, B.C. Manjunath, Isabel Sörling and Amir Elsaffar.
Cradled from an early age by the music of her father, a jazz double bassist, she developed a sense of improvisation and composition at a very early age. Her curiosity led her to join and initiate projects mixing aesthetics and disciplines. In 2019, she created n'Être, a cello and dance duo whose music and choreography are jointly composed by the two artists. That same year, she joined the Medinea network, which brings together young artists from the Mediterranean basin to create an original repertoire. Deeply influenced by the experience of intercultural creation, she created her own Mosaïc collective with musicians from Bulgaria, France, Portugal and Tunisia, whose first concerts took place in Tunisia in September 2022. At the same time, Adèle takes part in the Orchestre National de Jazz des Jeunes season 2021-2022 and joins the groups Abhra and Afriquatuors, whose respective albums are released in autumn 2022. She performs internationally, notably in the Netherlands with Syrian singer Jawa Manla, in Belgium with the group Aka Moon, and in Portugal with Zé Almeida's quartet and the group Apophenia.
The year 2023 marks the start of her most personal projects, with the first concerts of her group Adèle Viret Quartet, named winner of Jazz Migration #9, the revival of Trium Viret, a family trio with Oscar Viret and Jean-Philippe Viret, and the creation of Seuls, a piece for cello commissioned by Ateliers du Violoncelle. In 2023, Adèle won the Forte grant for emerging talent in the Paris region. This grant enabled her to record her two main projects, Adèle Viret Quartet and Mosaïc, whose albums will be released in autumn 2024. Adèle is winner of the Marion Bourgine grant (2017) awarded by the Jazz in Marciac workshop, Jeune Talent de l'Académie Villecroze (2018), Jazz Migration #9 (2023) and Forte grant (2023).
