[...] In this code are five sung formulas, which, once sung, make places and times appear. All of them contain the traces of a unique ritornello, a song of consolation which we don't know if it reaches us from ancient, present or future times.

Un opéra modeste (provisional title) is a hybrid musical fiction for stage and radio where literature, song, experimental music and sound installation intermingle. Audience and performers experience the same cognitive experience: the disappearance of seeing. This infirmity is at the center of his story. In five sung acts that oscillate between abstraction and song, an original enigma is revealed: where are the things that have become? To the narrative instances is added another "voice", that of the landscape, to widen this notion of people and orchestra to all the entities present. The work emancipates itself from the constraints and traditions of the genre to propose a version with a "sobering" lyricism and places its performers and its narration in dialogue with the discrete forms of existence. During this creative residency, we will investigate the term "minor" as a musical mode, an adjective or a social position. We will create a phonography of landscapes and then continue the writing and interpretation of the radio score by interweaving the different registers that make it up: choral singing, storytelling, sound poetry and field recording. Un opéra modeste is in line with Myriam Pruvot's research on language, sung narrative, sound archaeology, prophetic visions and the impact of places.
