Listening to the Shadow is a mixed-media performance that follows up on the installation The Edge of the Tape, created in 2018
The "voice hearers" talk about this intangible audible that only they can perceive and describe. They talk about listening, in all senses of the word.
Écouter l'Ombre is made in the deepest encounter with three voice-hearers and the friction of these voices with those of musicians who play with tape recorders, capture reality, transform it and compose it. Écouter l'Ombre is a listening of the listeners through an electro-acoustic device.
" Our intention is to disturb the perception between what is planned and what is not. To come to disturb the intentionality of our sound sources to put the spectators in a listening on the lookout". To play on very close and very distant sources. To rely on the sound porosity of the places to extend the listening...
We collaborate here with Christophe Cardoen, light creator who, by his singular way of working the luminous vibration, explores what is played between the control and the release in front of a phenomenon, a situation. " - Anne Julie Rollet and Anne-Laure Pigache

Anne-Julie Rollet
Composer, scenographer
Anne-Julie Rollet composes and improvises electroacoustic music. She is particularly interested in radio sounds and the voices of others, which she explores and manipulates, among other things, with the help of a transmitter and several radio sets with heterogeneous sound colors. Her playing device mixes analog and digital tools.
Anne-Laure Pigache
Composer, scenographer
Working in the field of sound poetry, at the crossroads of theater and experimental music, Anne-Laure Pigache is particularly interested in the state of improvisation and the quality of presence that this state gives to performers. As a vocalist, she explores more particularly the musicality of language, which she likes to twist and reverse. She is interested in the everyday word as a poetic place.
Christophe Cardoen
Light device, scenographer
Christophe Cardoen creates and presents installations; uses lights, movements, sounds; makes devices, lights, objects, spaces. By associating electromechanical devices, shutters or reflective surfaces with light sources, he provokes variations of rhythms, scansions of bright lights in the deep darkness and tests our visual perceptions of time and place.
