Artist residency focused on spatialization.
“Some projects are born out of necessity. This is one of them.”
Music has always been a companion in times of grief. Not so much to articulate the loss as to help the [sur]vivors get through it—to find, in the shared sound, something that resembles comfort.
It is precisely this power that this new program explores: centuries-old Mediterranean songs juxtaposed with sophisticated compositions, a soundscape crafted with great care, and an off-screen dimension—those sounds of reality that slip into the listening experience like a background of invisible presences.
Five artists at the heart of the audience. A circular, immersive performance. No stage separated from the world—just a circle, a community of living beings.
And at the heart of it all is the voice—a bridge between the personal and the collective.

Bruno draws the uniqueness of his creative language from his early immersion in the distinct worlds of jazz and flamenco guitar. This dual musical education, woven from contrasting traditions and knowledge, fuels his appreciation for diversity and complexity. He explores an aesthetic of the in-between, a particular sensitivity to transitions, interstices, and zones of turbulence, using the tension between these opposing poles as a driving force for creation.
Born in Marseille to Sicilian parents but raised on rock music, she joined Rassegna in 2009, where she reconnected with her roots while bringing to the company the power and emotion of her journey, as well as her bold vocal style, reminiscent of Sicilian blues.
Maria Zopounidis grew up in Greece, where she was immersed from childhood in a dual musical culture: her father, a Pontic Greek, introduced her to the traditional songs of Greece, Asia Minor, and the Black Sea region, where they originated; her mother, a Franco-Italian pianist, taught her the piano and provided her with a classical musical education.
She moved to France to pursue her musical studies and, in 2018, earned a Diploma in Musical Studies in opera singing from the CRR in Avignon. She then continued her studies at the Institut Supérieur des Arts de Toulouse, where she earned, in 2022, the Diplôme National Supérieur Professionnel de Musicien in opera singing in the class of Sophie Koch and Didier Laclau-Barrère, and her Bachelor’s degree in Musicology from the University of Toulouse Jean Jaurès. In 2023, she also earned the Diplôme d’État in opera singing
Magali Rubio
She taught herself to play the clarinet and later enrolled at the CNR in Marseille, where she earned a medal in bass clarinet. Intrigued by different styles of music, she studied jazz at the Marseille Jazz School, focusing on the flute and saxophone.
Thanks to her training in both written and improvised music, she has become familiar with a wide variety of musical forms, including contemporary music (Piano & co, Insieme), classical music (Orchestre Philharmonique du Pays d’Aix, Opéra de Nice, Warsaw Symphony Orchestra), chamber music (Ensemble Horizon and Delicioso), contemporary music (Abd el Malik, Nilda Fernandez, Shaman), and many others.
She composes and arranges for instrumental and vocal ensembles, for theater, and for young audiences.
Frédéric Braye
A sound engineer, electronic music composer, and developer of interactive tools, Frédéric Braye composes electronic music for live performances, visual media, and sound installations. After graduating in 1994, he has worked in the fields of live and studio sound. But he was increasingly drawn to creation; he took the plunge in 2000 with fritkot, his first electronic music project. After honing his craft, he developed his creative projects through sound installations, the “wall of sound,” and zebra4, his interactive modò instrument. Today, he composes music for theater and dance.
