Research and creation residency.

The starting point is an inaccessible place: Île aux Oiseaux, a territory off-limits to humans, an enclave of life situated at the heart of a man-made space (the Port of the Burgundy Canal in Dijon). This status as an unreachable place is not merely geographical: it becomes a poetic, political, and compositional device.

The inaccessibility of the island of birds evokes the idea of a space for retreat, imagination, and desire.

Here, the composition of the imaginary landscape is a ritual act that connects, wards off, creates, and heals. It is an invitation to listen differently, to accept the opacity of the living world, and to recognize that certain territories—whether sonic, ecological, or symbolic—are better off remaining inaccessible.

A radio production series will accompany this exploration in the form of a program broadcast on Radio Grenouille: *Birdspotting*.

The residency will be a period set aside for writing the first movement (an electroacoustic composition) and for developing a performative, mobile acousmonium.
