Le Grand8 (Marseille) invites ApPI (Drôme)

Rencontre croisée de 2 groupes de musiciens improvisateurs
ApPI, association pour les pratiques de l'improvisation, en Drôme.

Following on from the improvisation encounters organized over the past 3 years at Les Céphéides - Félines sur Rimandoule, the ApPI scheme was created to give substance and resonance to the project of welcoming improvising musicians, dancers, visual artists... by organizing ephemeral rendez-vous open to the public.
Le Grand8 was founded in 2016, on the initiative of a small group of musicians from the PACA region, based on a simple, powerful idea: the urgency and desire to offer each other a space to play and experiment collectively. At the heart of the project is improvised music, without direction, in a large ensemble. Le Grand8 explores a musical language based on rules of listening and collective awareness.

Le Grand8 welcomes the ApPI to the GMEM, back from a first meeting in the Drôme (December 6, 2018). At the end of these days of work and sharing practices, the 2 ensembles will give a joint concert at the end of their residency.
