During her stay at the Camargo Foundation, and with the support of the GMEM, Floy Krouchi is working on her first concert piece for the FKBass, an augmented bass with integrated technology, designed specifically for her practice. This new instrument, developed in coproduction with cesare-cncm, is inspired by the composer's research stays in India with Pandit Hindraj Divekar, Rudra Veena's master, and her practice of electroacoustic composition. Floy accompanies this writing work with a reflection on hybrid lutheries, which give rise to new paradigms for instrumental gesture, writing and composition.
In December 2019, she will travel to India for a series of performances, followed by a research and creation stay with Ircam researcher Robert Piechaud, around the Rudra Veena, in order to create a new module for the FKBass.

Floy Krouchi explores the potential of new technologies in sound creation. With "Sonic Totem", she questions the nature/human/machine relationship and the function of the art object as a magical object. At the same time, with the FKB, a bass augmented by integrated technology, Floy continues her research into electronics and instrumental gesture through the concept of the "electronic raga" begun with her solo "Bass Holograms". Laureate of the Villa Medicis in 2009 and of the Face Council for Contemporary Music in 2016, her work also focuses on radio art through sound pieces that are somewhere between essay, fiction, documentary and sound poetry (Prix Luc Ferrari 2010, Italia 2011, Phonurgia Nova 2013). His work has been shown for over 20 years in India, China, the Middle East and the United States in venues such as: Louvre Abu Dhabi, Palais de Tokyo, Centre Georges Pompidou, Documenta 13 , GRM, IRCAM, Dream City festival, LEM, Spazio-Muzicale, Contemporary Art museums of Valencia, San Sebastian and Madrid, Spectrum New York.
