Recording residence.

Residency as part of the Phonurgia Nova Awards 2024.

This is the story of a sound documentary that was suddenly interrupted. On the set of "Ficelle", I was exploring the issue of hunting head-on with my brother. I used the discovery of a deer massacre as the backbone of my story, whose flesh, muscles and organs were made up of my inner voices. But then, in the last week of shooting, Mathias kicked me out, shouting, "Now get out of here and never set foot in this place again!

At the bedside of this decomposing sonorous body, I begin investigating the cause of death. The autopsy report is unequivocal: the murder weapon is my voice. I don't like the way my words are too tight, the way I sound like a schoolteacher, the way my intonations are clear and sharp.

Since I'm having my chest done, I want a new voice. So I summon specialists to a recording studio: a sound engineer, a speech therapist, a specialist in popular vocal music and a vocal coach. They work with me to flush out the hidden accomplices in my inflections. There's an advert that says "to assert your voice is to assert your personality", but what I want is to assert my personalities, to express dissonant harmonies. We'll be at the crossroads of personal development, vocalization and political voice.
