Mixed work for four percussion instruments and live electronics. On stage, a collective instrumental device is spread across the stage like a large jumble: each musician brings his or her own energy to it, in staged movements. On three screens, a video device reveals the invisible details of this timeless taming between man and his tools, capturing and mixing live images of the instruments' gestures, materials and frictions, shocks... offering the spectator as many visual glimpses of sound and its production.
A dynamic composition, where process creates form. Speed, pulsation, timbre and instruments are subjected to the many detour of real or virtual machines. The sonic and instrumental materials recorded or (re-)interpreted reflect both the memory and the imagination of the musicians, and are the fruit of the gesture embodied by each, which reinvents and metamorphoses itself in contact with the machine. Drum-Machines is a premeditation: an exchange between two musical areas of the 21st century: contemporary and electronic music.

eRikm
sound artist
A virtuoso of turntables and the sound arts, improviser and composer as well as visual artist, eRikm takes the risk of escaping any attempt at hasty categorization. Attentive to maintaining the fusion between thought, instinct and sensitivity, he dares to use simultaneous practices and to bring different modes of composition into tension, in and with all languages.
His creative process never ceases to treat sound materials as a living organism, in constant mutation, exposed to the risk of accident as well as to that of delight and unison.
As time goes by, encounters and collaborations with different audiences and temperaments come naturally to the fore: Luc Ferrari, Christian Marclay, Mathilde Monnier, Jérôme Noetinger, F.M. Einheit...
Since 1997, alone or accompanied, eRikm has taken part in a variety of touring projects or designed specific, cross-disciplinary works for specific spaces and commissions (recordings, radio broadcasts, installations, videos, etc.). At the same time, his most personal fragments continue to come together to build a singular kaleidoscopic vision, drawing on a number of his primary arts (photography, drawing, plastic objects, video).
In fine, all his work certainly resonates with his research on the bangs of science and a curious poetry of the world.
In 2016, her projects include two creations with Aurélia Ivan at the Festival Extension (MAC de Créteil) and with Colin Dunne at the CND de Pantin.
His latest CDs "Doubse Hystérie" and "Pavillon du Lac" were recently released.
Percussions de Strasbourg
ensemble
With over 1,600 concerts around the world and 300 creations since their foundation in 1962, Les Percussions de Strasbourg have created a whole range of contemporary repertoire for percussion. Bringing a heritage to life by constantly revisiting it, innovating relentlessly to keep pace with the evolution of new technologies and the expansion of stage practices and expressions: these are the challenges to be met in inventing and exploring the vast field of percussion in the 21st century. Under the impetus of its new artistic director Jean Geoffroy (since 2015), the ensemble continues to diversify its projects. It doesn't hesitate to put itself on stage with new artists, creators, performers or circus artists from different musical horizons. Witness, for example, the recent creations of Javier Elipe with films in 2015, or the concert with the duo Ork on the frontiers between rock, repetitive music and electro (2016). Les Percussions de Strasbourg intend to continue this unique adventure, extending the bridge between the "historic" repertoire and new artistic spaces. These crossroads remain to be discovered, invested in and shared. Les Percussions de Strasbourg are supported by the Ministère de la Culture et de la Communication/DRAC Alsace, the Ville de Strasbourg, the Conseil Régional d'Alsace, the Conseil Départemental du Bas-Rhin, SACEM, SPEDIDAM, ADAMI, Institut Français and Mécénat Musical Société Général.
