Creative residency.
Dondo is a composition in several movements, a dialogue between vocal and electroacoustic polyphonies. The project offers a sensitive exploration of lullabies, collected since 2021 and put into perspective through musicological research, notably that compiled in the journal Berceuses: circulations historiques et culturelles, transmissions de l’intime (Textes et Contextes, University of Burgundy).
The composition is built around research into the modalities of listening. The lullaby, a minimal and repetitive musical form, draws particular attention to timbre, breath, silence, and duration. The narrative thread questions what it means to listen to a voice today and seeks to musically convey the tension between apparent gentleness and protest.
Dondo is part of a contemporary creative approach in which sound research, stage writing, and attention to listening constitute a single artistic gesture.
