As part of the Festival Actoral, which runs from Fri. Sept. 9 to Sun. Oct. 9, 2022
"In a natural, diorama-like environment, a figure evolves, taming this territory dominated by an oblong plot of land. Micro-contacts at her ankles capture her body-level movements, blurring our perception of distance and gesture. Around her, instruments of unknown manufacture are placed here and there, both musical and scenographic elements - the most distinctive, a reconditioned organ windchest, has been named "whippoorwill", after the bird. Live sound is also a terrain to be explored: bruitism, field recording, infrasound, aïgus signals and other micro-events compose a craggy dramaturgy. The dance, for its part, is a sum of experiments with this sound device, and can take the form of a ritual or a march, each generating its own sound space, as desired.
The fruit of a collaboration between performer Pau Simon, director/sound artist Clément Vercelletto and choreographer Madeleine Fournier, Devenir Imperceptible is a desire for radical abstraction, the advent of pure forms, an ontology of the phenomenon on stage. Everything manifests itself in the infinitesimal, in a nocturnal climate, on the edge of senses and signs, following a time all its own. Finally, it's the continuation of a patient process aimed at testing the possibilities of sound when it becomes a scenic catalyst, rather than a mere accessory in the theatrical instrumentarium." - Actoral

Clément Vercelletto
Musician and director
Clément Vercelletto was born in Lyon in 1981. He has a dual career as a musician and stage director. His artistic approach tends to find points of friction and clarity between these two practices. Or how sound becomes a postulate, a vector for activating the body and voice of the performers on stage.
He trained at the ENM in Villeurbanne (percussion), at the CRR in Lyon (electroacoustic composition) and at the IGTS (show technique, sound option).
He works as a musician/composer/performer for directors and choreographers Marion Aeschlimann, Matthieu Cruciani, Malika Djardi, Léa Drouet, Madeleine Fournier, Yves Noël Genod, Bastien Mignot, Sylvie Mongin Algan, Léna Paugam...
Since 2011, he has been taking part in workshops at ENSAV Lacambre in Brussels, leading to performances. Some of these performances will be repeated in other contexts, notably TAPE ENSEMBLE performed in September 2016 at the Palais de Tokyo.
He plays in the music groups KAUWALD (with Ernest Bergez), ORGUE AGNES (with Elg and Ernest Bergez), ARLT (with Sing Sing, Eloïse Decaze, Mocke), LUXUS (with Sebastien Brun and Julien Desprez) as well as solo under the name SARAH TERRAL.
Since 2014, he has been directing his own projects and creating the structure he co-directs with Bastien Mignot: Les Sciences Naturelles.
La mélodie des choses his first show premiered in June 2018 at Les Subsistances in Lyon, then at the Actoral festival in Marseille as well as the Artdanthé festival in Vanves.
Silence Provisoire his latest performance was performed at Usine C in Montreal last November as part of the Actoral Montreal festival.
This year, he is performing in COCO, a piece by Julien Desprez created as part of the Musica festival in Strasbourg.
Starting next season and for two years, he will be associate artist at La Soufflerie in Rezé (directed by Cyril Jollard).
Pau Simon
Performer, choreographer, researcher
Her choreographic practice is marked by transdisciplinary research (dance, visual arts, social sciences) in which dance acts as a vector around a subject or context, creating links between the intimate and the political. Her work goes beyond a purely choreographic disciple, proposing new ways of looking at reality.
Trained in contemporary dance in Lyon at the CNR, then at the Conservatoire Supérieur de Danse in Paris, CNSMDP in the contemporary curriculum, Pau also attended workshops with artists and theoreticians such as Odile Duboc, Loïc Touzé and Mathieu Bouvier, Fanny de Chaillé, Elizabeth Lebovici, La Ribot, Vincent Dupont, Boris Charmatz, Jennifer Lacey. She obtained her DE at the CND de Pantin, and works in art schools to share her research or propose exploration projects, and assists or collaborates on projects by Volmir Cordeiro, Eric Mihn Cuong and Duncan Evennou. A performer with choreographers such as Joanne Leighton, Nina Santes and Mickaël Phelippeau, as well as in her own projects, Pau is involved in collaborations with musicians/performers such as Julien Desprez and Ernest Bergez, visual artists such as Ulla von Brandenburg, Corine Petitpierre and Yvan Clédat, Alex Cechetti, and contemporary theater artists such as Duncan Evennou.
Since founding the Suprabénigne association in 2013, she has created Exploit, first prize and audience prize in the Danse Elargie competition at the Théâtre de la Ville, Sérendipité at the Cité internationale, Perlaborer pour les sujets à vifs in Avignon with Vincent Dissez, Postérieurs, at the Ménagerie de Verre, Mutant Stage, a dance video commission for Lafayette Anticipation in collaboration with Volmir Cordeiro, Pendullum, for the exhibition Museum ON/ OFF Centre Pompidou, Per Que Torçut Dansan Lo Monde at Silencio in collaboration with Ernest Bergez, Lo-fi dance, created at CDC le Pacifique, Grenoble.
She is currently working on The great hold up! création 2021.
Bastien Mignot
Dancer, actor, director, performer, choreographer
Born in Paris in the early 80s.
Trained in theater at the Ecole Supérieure d'Art Dramatique Pierre Debauche in the early 2000s. After a few years as an actor, he turned to performance art and contemporary dance.
It was there that he met Yves-Noël Genod and Massimo Furlan, and began his own work, both on stage and in the visual arts.
He collaborates notably with photographer Grégoire Edouard and musician Clément Vercelletto.
It was with the latter that he founded the association Les Sciences Naturelles.
In 2013, he joined the ex.e.r.ce research master's program at the Centre Chorégraphique National de Montepellier under the direction of Mathilde Monnier.
As a performer, he works with Clément Vercelletto, Ingrid Berger Myhre and Léa Drouet.
One might say that his artistic work consists in the reinvention of rituals. It's a protean, sensitive work where multiple, deliberately non-hierarchical inspirations and obsessions meet.
Invisible worlds, ruins, landscape and disappearance are his main fields of exploration.
Florian Leduc
Playwright, scenographer, lighting designer, video artist
Florian Leduc is a graduate of Villa Arson Nice, Ecole Supérieure d'Art, where he works in performance, video and installation.
Since 2010, he has worked with Marion Duval, with whom he created Las Vanistas, Médecine générale and Clap trap. He was assistant to Belgian artist Erik Duyckaerts in 2010, and has collaborated with Joris Lacoste since 2005, notably on the piece Le vrai spectacle at the 2012 Autumn Festival, and to create the lighting, set design and video for the pieces Suites N°1, Suite N°2 and Suite N°3 at the Kunstenfestivaldesarts in Brussels and the Autumn Festival in Paris.
He also collaborates with directors and choreographers such as Paul/a Pi, Emilie Rousset, Pau Simon, Yan Duyvendack, Céline Cartillier, Aurélien Patouillard, Thomas Gonzales, Claire Dessimoz, Adina Secretan, Malika Djardi, Camille Cau, Beppe Chicco and Barbara Matijevic.
Madeleine Fournier
Performer and choreographer
Madeleine Fournier trained in dance at the CNR in Paris and the CNDC in Angers under Emmanuelle Huynh.
Since 2007, she has collaborated with numerous choreographers and visual artists in France, Germany, Belgium and Portugal, including Odile Duboc, Emmanuelle Huynh, Fabrice Lambert, Sara Manente, Boris Achour, Fanny de Chaillé and Philippe Ramette, Loïc Touzé, Jocelyn Cottencin, Rémy Héritier, David Marques, Léa Drouet and Andrea Baglione.
Since 2008, she has collaborated with Jonas Chéreau on a choreographic research project. Together they have created a series of pieces: Les interprètes ne sont pas à la hauteur, Sexe symbole (to explore the meaning of the term), Sous-titre and Partout. They are also behind a film 306 Manon directed by Tamara Seilman.
In 2017 she founded her company ODETTA and in 2018 she created the solo Labourer presented in France, Belgium, Switzerland and Austria. That same year she created a form both sung and danced in collaboration with Catherine Hershey entitled Catherine und Madeleine: Zwei Palmitos. This form is performed in a variety of more or less alternative contexts. In 2019, she will create Ce Jardin as part of SACD's Vive le Sujet! program at the Festival d'Avignon, conceived and performed in collaboration with Ina Mihalache, known for her Youtube channel Solange te parle.
In 2021, she will create La Chaleur, an experimental musical for five performers based on choral songs by Henry Purcell. In parallel with this piece, she is making a film in collaboration with Andrea Baglione Ce qui est en haut est comme ce qui est en bas.
Her work develops in close connection with experimental music, song, dance, performance and plants, which invites her to collaborate with artists from different disciplines (musicians, singers, dancers, landscape artists, visual artists, etc.). She likes to observe how the context - the garden, the theater, the concert hall, the gallery, the cinema - and the codes associated with it act and give new resonance to the performative form.
