A clearing is a place apart, an open or enclosed place depending on the point of view, where ecosystems develop that cannot live elsewhere.
Clairière is an invitation to discover a renewed, hybrid nature. Proxima Centauri proposes to transport musicians and spectators into a new clearing where electronic and organic sounds are mixed to give shape to new sounds. As every clearing is condemned from its creation to become a forest again, this sound clearing is ephemeral, carried by the musicians' struggle to make it exist in the face of silence or noise.
The clearing is a symbol of the duality between full and empty. The opportunity to question the dialogue between voice and electronics, two mediums that evoke a mixture between the real and the unreal. A phantasmagorical journey through our dreams, our History, our legends and our universe.

Proxima Centauri
For more than 30 years, Proxima Centauri has been challenging the codes of chamber music, notably by integrating the electronic device as a full-fledged member of the group. Proxima Centauri collaborates with many artists, other musicians, performers or improvisers, but also dancers or visual artists. The ensemble thus has a multidisciplinary artistic approach, combining musical creation and visual arts.
Under the artistic direction of Marie-Bernadette Charrier, the ensemble practices an active commissioning policy and creates numerous works by composers and invests in all dimensions of creation, from research in contemporary violin making to the transmission of know-how to young performers.
Originally from Bordeaux, the ensemble has been associated with the SCRIME since 2020, which hosts a creation residency and organizes several events with it. Its influence extends beyond the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region and the borders of France. Internationally renowned, the ensemble is invited to numerous festivals and tours in Europe, America, Asia and Oceania.
Proxima Centauri is a member of Futurs Composés, REZO MUSA, Forces Vives and FEVIS.
