Creation residency
We are ten voices. Sighted, blind, visually impaired, we have been exploring together for 10 years now!
Our vocal pieces are inspired by sound ecosystems (familiar and unknown) as well as ancestral and avant-garde vocal practices. We become the sounds of biotopes, of machines, of endangered species, of non-humans; we sing with the invisible, an inarticulate, vibratory and organic language; we are the stumbling block of a memory populated with tunes, buried melodies, we make them fork towards hybridizations, possible mutations.
Chœur Tac-Til proposes a concert performance experience mixing written vocal pieces and a time of free improvisation, the duration: between 20 minutes and one hour, depending on the context.
Our acoustic and/or amplified vocal performances take place indoors in the dark. Outside, the audience's eyes are closed - depending on the location, they may be guided by touch. We try different contexts of listening, of perception. In 2022 and 2023, we invite within the residences of the GMEM: Aude Romary (cello) and Lionel Marchetti (electronics). On the other hand, we are working on two vocal pieces by Ulrich Krieger and Natacha Muslera.
On the other hand, we offer individual or group care experiences: "healing through voice, breaths, common vibrations and sound massages".
Finally, we share Chœur Augmenté workshops with autistic and psychotic young people, at the IME Vert Pré in Marseille, as well as in various art and social centers, psychiatric centers... Several members of Chœur Tac-Til share their experience, techniques and sensitive tools, in order to nourish collective vocal practices
We have been in residence since 2013 at GMEM, and have collaborated with artists from the experimental and contemporary music scene in chorus with: Jean-Luc Guionnet, Eric La casa, Aude Romary, Claire Bergerault, Michel Doneda...

"I am interested in every voice, the tiny and infirm voices - those of the living and the dead, of humans and non-humans. With these voices I elaborate a language of resistance that I call wood language, a hybrid language, articulated and inarticulated, impregnated with sound ecosystems. This activates performances, improvisations, texts, collective vocal practices, sound and radio pieces, scores, films, workshops and research laboratories, technologies of alterities... These experiments confront as much the vocal potentials, as the problematics of normality and aesthetics, that is to say the limits that one assigns to the voice: that of gender, class, register; as well as the predominance of a certain sense.
