1st part : showcase
Cain و Muchi is the meeting of Vanda Forte and Sinclair Ringenbach, in 2018, at the university, as part of the Master Acoustics and Musicology. The duo is officially born in 2020, at the dawn of the first confinement during which Vanda returns to Morocco, her native country. Flirting with a long-distance collaboration, each at one end of the Mediterranean, a first self-produced EP, "Martyr/KU(7)" is born in March 2020.
The meticulous sound design and orchestration of the songs, mixing crystalline voices, electronic beats and percussive pulses, are echoed in Vanda's committed lyrics, dreamy and realistic stories where he likes to sow doubt through metaphors and allegories, painting a multifaceted life. Vanda sings in various Arabic dialects (Moroccan, Egyptian, Syrian, ...) and addresses issues such as mental health, social oppression (racism, patriarchy, gender segregation) and political conflicts (war in Syria, Israeli-Palestinian conflict ...) that transcend the human condition: resilience, new world, post-war.
Already spotted by Stereolux (Nantes), the Station Gare des Mines (Paris), the Lavoir Public (Lyon), the Bulle Café (Lille), or the Mu, Dreamachine, Mouillette collectives and well known in the Marseilles landscape - with programs at the Métaphore, the Montevideo, on the roof terrace of the Friche La Belle De Mai, at the Embobineuse and at the Déviation - the Caïn و Muchi duo is not going to cease to surprise us!

ELECTRONIC AND TRADITIONAL MUSIC, A COMPOSITE FUTURE?
For more than 40 years, electronic music artists have been shaking up the field of traditional music, deploying on all continents forms of expression based on ancestral rhythmic or melodic structures with a contemporary approach. Far from the cliché opposition between tradition and modernity, musicians are following other paths, participating in the writing of traditions anchored in their time. Thus they bring their echoes to traditional music in movement. When the oral and popular heritage is played under the prism of technologies, do electronic music and traditional music conjugate in the composed future?
