The Écoutes Commentés are moments of meeting and sharing with a composer associated with the GMEM: a great opportunity to discover, in original conditions, singular and demanding artistic worlds
Sébastien Roux proposes a presentation of his practice. Listening to excerpts of his works: electroacoustic music, "computer music", radio pieces, sound installations...
Each extract is associated with the listening of another composer: an echo that sounds like a reference, an influence, a coincidence. Erik Satie, Brian Eno, Georges Aperghis, Pierre Henry, Ludwig van Beethoven, Pierre Schaeffer, Alvin Lucier, Johann Sebastian Bach, Conlon Nancarrow, Jean-Claude Risset, Jean-Luc Godard... will be invited to these association games.

Sébastien Roux
composer
Sébastien Roux composes experimental music that he makes audible in the form of records, listening sessions, installations or sound trails, and radio works. Since 2011, he has been developing an approach based on the principle of sound translation, which consists in using a pre-existing work as a score for a new sound piece. The most recent development of this translation process is "Inevitable Music", which uses the rules and techniques of Sol LeWitt's wall drawings for sound purposes. Sébastien Roux was a resident at the Villa Medici in Rome for the 2015-2016 season. in co-production with Friche la Belle de Mai
