Frostbite
Raphaël Botiveau & Hélène Baillot
Using archive footage, Raphaël Botiveau co-wrote a film with Hélène Baillot, which brings together two radically different mountain experiences: that of Mamadou Bah, an exile crossing the French-Italian border through the Alps, and that of Élisabeth Revol climbing Nanga Parbat in Pakistan. Frostbite, which links them like a shared wound, defines a strangely common condition that the film questions.
Accompanied by co-author Hélène Baillot, Raphaël Botiveau will read some of his writing in dialogue with archive images.
A gesture without gravity
Alice Boivin
Un geste sans gravité is a choreographic piece for three performers and a rope. Through several dances, gravity appears and highlights action-reactions to the physical and human laws of balance and relationships. Thought from Laban kinetography and Jo Mihaly's solo Blüme im Hinterhoff infuse the piece. The writing process is built on a continuous back-and-forth between the stage and the score. Alice Boivin is accompanied in her work by musician Artem Naumenko, performers Vincent Dupuy and Laure Desplan, and the outside perspectives of Noëlle Simonet (Laban), Mary Chebbah and Odile Rouquet.
Accompanied by Laure Desplan and Vincent Dupuy, she will present a work in progress, as well as the scores and writing materials.
We believe, and God laughs
Maïssa Elydja Olivier
Maïssa Elydja Olivier is inspired by her parents' love story and her own relationship with their trajectory. Through this autofictional account, she aims to subtly explore parenthood by highlighting the trials, wounds and choices that profoundly affect children. How do we live with what our parents pass on to us? What do we or don't we reproduce from their legacy? The director explores these questions through the journey and voice of her fictional avatar, Nour.
For the public presentation of her work, she is planning a duet with her mother, who will read a letter written 25 years ago, when her daughter was six months old, in connection with her father's departure. In response, Maïssa will read a letter written today.
