Pagnes Arrachés aims to question the condition of today's African woman...
What is the position of women on the black continent, and what are the challenges they face today at a time when talk of gender equality is rampant? How can she position herself in the face of age-old male economic domination? How can it find its way in the post-colonial era? And what place should she take, or rather, what place should she be given?
In a quadraphonic spatialized broadcasting system, this project will create a scenic writing based on the back-and-forth between the timbres of the vibraphone, theremin and voices transformed in real time by electronics, and on the other hand, like sound poetry, the sung-spoken voices of the two musicians oscillating with that of the narration.
The fundamentals of this project essentially stem from the need to develop international exchanges between French and foreign artists, while respecting the specificities of both parties. We plan to make this a reality by bringing the two female authors/actresses to France and the two French musicians to Africa. The project consists of creating a different opus with each Beninese and Ivorian author.

His career is a crossing of musical genres: jazz, learned music, traditional or innovative, written or improvised.
Dominique Chevaucher
Actress, singer
Dominique Chevaucher's career is a story of diverse experiences, and her freedom to go wherever her voice takes her has enabled her to take part in a wide range of artistic projects. Two encounters were decisive in her musical and theatrical career: guitarist Camel Zekri, with whom she created the association Les arts improvisés, organized the "Festival de l'eau", a multi-artistic and cross-cultural gathering, and discovered the theremin; and actress Bénédicte Lafond, with whom she created the Cie De l'une à l'autre. Three other encounters were decisive in her musical development: Annick Nozati, a singer-improviser who accompanied her for two years, and Christine Groult and Marco Marini, teachers and composers at the Conservatoire de Pantin, with whom she trained in electroacoustic music for three years (DEM in 2014).
Since 1996, she has been working with Camel Zekri on improvisation, and has sung in several of the composer's projects(Festival de l'eau, Le cercle, Ishango...). Since 2022, she has been seeking to bring together words, voice and the sounds of theremin and electroacoustics.
Fatou Sy
Author, actress
Fatou Sy holds degrees in Law from the University of Strasbourg and in General and Comparative Literature from the University of Paris 3 Sorbonne-Nouvelle. For the past ten years, she has been working in the world of playwriting. She has always written, and while her choice of writing is not surprising, the fact that she writes only for the theater is more surprising. An art form that came to her out of the blue. "One day, I saw images of characters talking to me, adopting a particular posture and telling a story. It was surreal, but at the same time so obvious that I had to translate this reality into theater, that I didn't ask myself any questions. I wrote my first play Monsieur Nègre in 2012 with a lot of spontaneity and instinct." Since that day, she hasn't stopped, like a revelation. She works with the Ivorian company "Allissô Théâtre" and takes part in creative residencies and festivals in Africa and Europe. Fatou Sy has been selected for the 2022-2023 "Découvertes" program of Les Francophonies - Des écritures à la scène, and is accompanied in her writing project by Koffi Kwahulé.
Nathalie Hounvo Yekpe
Writer, actress
Nathalie Hounvo Yekpe is an actress, director and writer. In 2006, she obtained a professional degree in theater techniques from the International Theatre School of Benin (EITB). She has worked as an actress with directors including Tola Koukoui (Benin), Emmanuel Daumas (France), Nina De La Chevallerie (Germany), Marielle Pinsard (Switzerland) and Abdeli Djamel (Algeria)... She has directed several plays including Au paradis, les femmes ne pètent pas by Michel Beretti in 2018 and Nous étions assis sur le rivage du monde by José Pliya in 2022. In 2014, Nathalie Hounvo Yekpe co-wrote the play Trop de diables sous leurs jupes with Michel Beretti.
In 2021, Nathalie Hounvo Yekpe was the winner of the 2021-2022 "Découvertes" residency program of Les Francophonies - Des écritures à la scène. This program enabled her to work on the writing project Course aux noces, with Sédjro Giovanni Houansou as dramaturgical advisor. This play in progress was read by Sophie Lewisch (Compagnie Hors Jeu) as part of the Zébrures festival in spring 2022 in Limoges. In partnership with Studio Monstre, the play was also read as part of the "Passe-moi le texte" program on March 23, 2022 at the Théâtre Blossac in Châtellerault. Course aux noces will also be read in July 2022 as part of RFI's "Ça va, ça va le monde!" cycle (Avignon).
