A sound epic in 6 tableaux
The story of Antigone is that of the original revolt, the most famous of all. Sophocles, Hölderlin, Honegger, Cocteau, Anouilh, Brecht, Bauchau... so many men who have created this emblematic figure of insubordination, even as she accepts the law of Creon, the supreme patriarchal power who imprisons her alive. But did the ancient heroine have her say? What would her words be in today's world, at a time when feminism is finally being heard more clearly?
In this musical, Antigone is also Élise. She is also Eric, Alice, Fabrice, Maya, Vincent and Loïc. They form Antigone's body, her thoughts, her wanderings, her questions: how to reinvent relationships between beings, desires, representations, in a world where patriarchy still dominates.
The artistic team, made up of 6 musicians and a painter, is accompanied by spectators recruited locally to embody the memory of Thebes, the city, the people.
A theater of sounds, objects and forms, a suspended moment woven from sonic and visual materials, Le Cri d'Antigone is an invitation to debate in the public square, a character's revolt against her creators.
A cry to raise together, here and now.
