Creation and recording residency.

To draw up a sound portrait of a territory, you need to collect its memories, meet its musicians and inhabitants, and capture its ambiences. Jean-Emmanuel Rosnet and Sébastien Robert listened to the stories, the repertoires and the sounds of Aubrac, and in May 2023, they carried out this investigative work to give birth to a creation halfway between improvised music and radio documentary. In this contemporary reinterpretation of Aubrac's heritage, the two artists draw on the stories they have collected to create a narrative based on archival sounds from the 1960s, when the CNRS began collecting data to study the lives, customs and traditions of the breeders in this region of the Massif Central.

In the continuity of projects developed by the two artists linked to the oral and cultural heritage of certain regions or groups of people, La Trahison raises the question of transmission. How to deal artistically with the possible disappearance of a craft, an artistic practice, a know-how, a repertoire. By manipulating raw materials, the intention of the two artists is to go beyond simple documentation and move towards more contemporary forms that pay tribute to this intangible heritage. The experimental reinterpretation they propose, like traditional repertoires in constant motion, attempts to open up new artistic perspectives to a whole range of Aubracois sounds, melodies and songs.
