The Cooperative is helping the Jeux d’Anches association organize its activities and develop its musical projects.
The Jeux d’Anches Association works to promote chamber music and new works in the Sud-PACA region.
Two projects are currently in development, with the goal of creating new forms of collaboration between artists and partners.
Synyparxi
Concert
Having created numerous works for their ensemble, the two musicians of the Avès duo are now broadening their horizons by combining the piano-accordion duo with vocals. For this occasion, they have invited countertenor Virgile Pellerin to join them in their exploration of chamber music as a means of examining relationships: coexistence, opposition, otherness, and fusion. By varying the instrumental combinations made possible by this unconventional trio, the program presented as part of the Modulations series showcases the younger generation of composers. The commission by the GMEM to the Greek-Armenian composer Filippos Sakagian creates a space for sensitive listening, in which perception becomes blurred. The notion of vocality, central to the work, permeates the instrumental writing. The use of electronics reinforces this relationship to create a new sonic identity.
This concert also highlights the Avès duo’s collaborations with composers Samir Amarouch and Matteo Gualandi. Through their respective musical languages, each explores a different aspect of the piano-accordion relationship. The rest of the program is conceived as carte blanche for countertenor Virgile Pellerin. His performative approach to vocality and his interest in hybrid forms make him a key figure on the contemporary music scene.
Potatoes, Glitter, and the Wizard Kids
A musical story for ages 5 and up
In *Le Concours de Magie*, Marie Piemontese and Florent Trochel bring to life two children who are the heirs of legendary figures—Merlin and Melusine—and who experiment with their powers in a place of freedom, the forest, far from the watchful eyes of adults. The magical game gradually becomes a learning experience: initially used to compete, tease, or seek revenge, the power quickly reveals its consequences and dangers.
The play thus addresses deeply political issues from a child’s perspective: the responsibility that comes with power, the need for collective rules, and the role of ethics in action. Through encounters with the mythical figures of Merlin and Melusine and the episode of the wounded blackbird, children discover that true magic does not lie in domination or spectacular transformation, but in caring for living things. The play thus explores our relationship with the world, nature, and others, and offers a heartfelt fable about learning to care, cooperate, and take responsibility.

Avès Duo
piano and accordion duo
Pianist Elena Soussi and accordionist Ambre Vuillermoz formed the Avès duo in 2017. Each with a diverse and prolific concert career, they come together as a duo to explore the possibilities of their unusual combination. This “false twin” duo—two keyboard instruments, one wind and the other percussion—leads them to delve deeper into timbre and composition alongside various composers. They have initiated several commissions (Claire-Mélanie Sinnhuber, Tobias Feierabend, Samir Amarouch, Matteo Gualandi, Julien Malaussena, Filippos Sakagian) to enrich their ensemble’s repertoire. Their collaborations are always driven by a proactive and committed approach to the creative process. In this way, they strive to help composers showcase their musical language through the piano-accordion duo.
Virgile Pellerin
singer and improvisational vocalist
Virgile Pellerin is an opera singer and improvisational vocalist. A countertenor, he initially specialized in early music, and his love for acting and the stage led him toward opera: he performed the Sorceress (_Dido & Æneas_, Purcell, conducted by Leonardo García-Alarcón in 2023) and Ottone (_L’Incoronazione di Poppea_, Monteverdi, directed by Patrice Caurier and Moshe Leiser in 2026). Virgile is a graduate of the CNSMD in Paris in opera singing and generative improvisation. He is a laureate of the Safran Foundation, the Académie Voix Nouvelles de Royaumont, and the Ircam’s Académie ManiFeste 2023. Passionate about contemporary music, Virgile regularly collaborates with composers, including Samir Amarouch (_Horizons_, 2023) and Nicola Sani (_Code Unknown II_, 2026). As an actor, Virgile has distinguished himself in theater and works with directors Aurelia Ivan and Maëlle Dequiedt (_The Democracy Project_, 2025). In 2024, Virgile founded _Quiebros_ with harpsichordist Darío Cervera, an ensemble playing period instruments dedicated to the early music repertoire and contemporary music, in residence at the Singer-Polignac Foundation. In 2025, he founded _Brûle_ with oboist Ariane Bacquet: a company for experimental music, a laboratory where contemporary music, free improvisation, and performance converge.
Fillipos Sakagian
composer, director, and transmedia artist
Filippos Sakagian is a composer, director, and transmedia artist. He creates works that blend instrumental composition, electronic devices, stage writing, and installation. His work lies at the intersection of concert, experimental theater, and somatic performance, exploring the thresholds of perception where sound, light, space, and the body generate experiences of visceral intensity. A graduate of the Master’s program in instrumental composition and new technologies at the CNSMD in Paris and a former student of the IRCAM curriculum, he designs his own instruments and digital tools in Max/MSP, organically integrating light and the spatialization of sound into musical composition. This research-creation approach is part of a theoretical reflection on compositional practice and real-time performance systems, leading to lectures and publications. His works have been presented at IRCAM, the Greek National Opera, the NFM (Wrocław), the Musée de l’Orangerie, as well as at the TONARIUM (Poland), GRAME Biennale (Lyon), Intonal (Sweden), MIXTUR (Barcelona), and TIEMF (Tehran) festivals. A recipient of the SACEM Composition Prize, the Mixage Fou Prize, and the Hertzbreakerz Prize for Electroacoustic Composition, his work has received support from the Meyer Foundation, SACEM, the Legs Jabès grant, and the Tarrazi Fund.
Marie Piemontese & Florent Trochel
Authors and Directors
Originally working as solo playwrights and directors, Florent Trochel and Marie Piemontese now co-author their new works. They have already written stage and radio adaptations of several fairy tales, such as Tom Thumb, Puss in Boots, and Sleeping Beauty... In this context, they are developing a style of writing tailored for musicians and musical ensembles. For both of them, the primary quest is to give voice to the inexpressible, to reveal the strangeness of reality or its magical refraction, and to evoke the mystery of emotional connections. Humor, however, is ever-present in their plays for young audiences. Fantasy is embraced, and the tone seeks to resonate with both children’s minds and the childlike spirit within adults. Their own directing work can be found within the Hana San Studio company, founded by Florent Trochel in 2009 after a trip to Japan—a company in which he seeks to blend different artistic practices. Marie Piemontese joined the company in 2011, seeking the same hybrid creative space.
Julien Malaussena
composer
Through his music, Julien Malaussena develops a categorization and a grammar of the various behaviors of sound, which he calls “articulated sound energy.” He focuses on the direction—or lack thereof—inherent in each sound entity and, through this, on their capacity for articulation and interrelation. Trained under Jean-Luc Hervé, Pierre Farago, and Yan Maresz, his music has been performed by numerous ensembles in France, Switzerland, Belgium, Germany, Russia, Austria, Israel, Brazil, the U.S., Turkey, Mexico, Italy, Japan, Canada, and Spain. He has very recently collaborated with the Xasax saxophone quartet, the Neue Philharmonie Westfalen orchestra, and the Abstrakt trio. He was artist-in-residence at the CRD in Orléans (2023–2024 season) and is currently working on an electronic music album as well as a performance for young audiences with the Avès Duo.
Théâtre de nuit Theater Company
Shadow Theater, Choreography, and Visual Arts
Combining shadow theater, choreography, and visual arts—as well as natural elements, movement, and figures—Aurélie Morin and the artists of Théâtre de nuit explore the languages and materials of the body and the voice, projected images, and manipulated light. 7 A dancer and puppeteer trained at PARTS (Brussels) and ESNAM (Charleville-Mézières), among other institutions, Aurélie Morin creates shadow theater pieces in close collaboration with the company’s multidisciplinary artists. At the intersection of visual arts, choreography, and puppetry, Théâtre de Nuit’s shadow and figure theater invites audiences of all ages to break down barriers and embrace an experience that draws upon the body’s memory.
Sybille Wilson
Violinist and director, Sybille Wilson creates opera and musical theater productions.
As a director, she has staged some fifty productions in Europe and the United States. In 2002, she directed her first production for the Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie in Brussels (La Giostra d’Amore, music by Handel), followed shortly thereafter by a production for the Frankfurt Opera (El Retablo de Maese Pedro, by Falla). Since then, she has been regularly invited to perform at venues such as the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence, Bozar in Brussels, the Teatro Colón in Bogotá, La Criée in Marseille, the Grand Théâtre de Genève, and the Festivals de Wallonie, for productions that she has largely conceived, written, and directed.
Sybille Wilson also collaborated with Quebec director Robert Lepage and his company Ex Machina from 2007 to 2018 on opera projects. Sybille Wilson holds a degree in violin from the Royal Conservatory of Music in Brussels and received a Cambridge University Chamber Music Award in 1999. She also trained in acting at the École Claude Matthieu. She founded Compagnie l’Orpiment, a musical theater company established in 2018 in the Paris region.
