This residency will see the realization of a first musical encounter between the improvising guitarist Jean-Marc Montera (associate artist of the GMEM) and the electroacoustic musician Gwennaëlle Roulleau, through recordings, which will serve as a basis for a future collaboration...

A French guitarist with a rock background, specializing in free improvisation and sound experimentation, Jean-Marc Montera uses the entire range of amplified and acoustic strings - resonance, percussion, distortion, extensions and detour of all kinds. Among the most active musicians in the field of improvised music, he has been multiplying his encounters and contacts with other artistic worlds since the 1970s, to the point of blurring the "barrier" between genres.

Gwennaëlle Roulleau composes, improvises, and sets up installations. It is with the sensitivity of the listening walker that she quickly records to share these precious traces of life. From recording to broadcasting, she sculpts the sound matter, to give rise to fixed or real-time compositions, thought out as sound dramaturgies. Attached to the acoustic and organic nature of sounds, she also claims the electronic dimension of her instrument. Her approach is marked by her training in electroacoustic composition with Christine Groult (ENM Pantin).
She also plays with other improvising musicians (Tristan Macé, Ramuntcho Matta, Pablo Cueco, Jean-Marc Montera, Fred Marty, Thierry Waziniak, Gaël Mevel, Daniel Lifermann, Basile Chassaing), and composes for video (Abbaye de Boscodon - Erik Lorré, U-Farm - Damien Chivialle, Fais voir le son -2DHD, La roulotte - Tangible).
Her approach of listening to the world and exploring reality leads her to projects in situ. And she evolves in collaborations with dance and theater companies (Edwine Fournier - Tangible, Sébastien Molliex - Les OsPosés, Olivia Grandville - La spirale de Caroline, Dominique Dolmieu - Théâtre de Syldavie).
The grip with reality and its poetic resonance cross her work. Fascinated by the manifestation of the living, in the physical dimensions of the world, she seeks through installations to interpret in a sonorous way a phenomenon at first imperceptible by our senses(La fourmi sur l'élastique, Taxi Brousse - Fées d'hiver), or which will give to the context a poetic interpretation(Open sources II - Tangible, Sillons - Laure Bollinger, L'espwar est un temps boisé - Friche Théâtre Urbain) She is currently working with electromagnetic waves.
In the crossroads between these languages, she is looking for a gap that allows possibilities to unfold, in this friction, poetry.
She is a member of the Tangible, Fées d'hiver and Emoi Sonneur collectives.
