Preferring the path to the journey, like an ode to wandering.

Mathilde Barthélémy, soprano and actress, examines our relationship with the landscape that surrounds us, the traces it leaves in our intimate histories, and the ways in which we explore it.

With Espaces Blancs, she focuses on the "white" of the map, on absent, shifting landscapes, through singular accounts collected in the field.

She has chosen to surround herself with composer Claudia Jane Scroccaro and visual artist and set designer Nina Bonardi, and to work on the theme of breath, involving musicians at the crossroads of contemporary and improvised music.

Espaces blancs, halfway between a concert and an installation, aims to give voice to the intimate relationship we have with a landscape we've crossed, and the variations that affect it. Inspired by sensitive cartography and interviews with local residents, this musical form aims to record the moulting of a landscape, its transformation and disappearance.
