Development of a spatialization and sound design program
Recordings and Research
BREATHING is a danced solo that revolves around the act of breathing in a hybrid choreographic and sound project. Breathing in, breathing out: the movement and the breath of the performer Liam Warren amplified circulate and communicate with the sound artist Hugo Mir-Valette with a haunting resonance to switch from the intimate to the common feeling.
A single figure evolves on a dark stage and engages in infinite spiral movements. Polymorphic body, sometimes spectral, the performer moves on a mirrored stage: his breaths, even his spasms, are recorded live and spread in the space according to an incessant and paroxysmal loop. Between exhaustion and resistance, the breath is twisted, multiplied and its intensity rises to a crescendo. In this echo chamber, a new phase of empathy for the collective body.
