These workshops are part of the GMEM's "creative music" program, designed to give schoolchildren a chance to familiarize themselves with creative music (contemporary, experimental, electroacoustic, electronic, etc.) over the course of a school year.

The program is divided into several phases, with the aim of providing students with keys to listening and understanding, as well as awakening their artistic sensibilities. It can be adapted to the needs of each school and the approach of its teaching teams. Together with the teachers concerned, the GMEM selects a suitable composer to develop a creative project based on their requests and the specific characteristics of the school. The artistic content is then worked out by the artist, in discussion with the teacher and students: over the course of around 20 hours of workshops, the students produce an artistic work (electroacoustic creations, installations, etc.).

Students participate in the creation of a musical work, discovering the roles of both composer and technician. At the end of the project, the creation(s) are showcased in the school and/or via various networks (school website, gmem website, social networks, etc.).
