Maïté Cronier, a GMEM intern and student in the Acoustics and Musicology Master's program at the Université d'Aix-Marseille, worked with two kindergarten classes at the École Vincent Leblanc to awaken their listening skills.
Through a variety of exercises, she encouraged pupils to discover how to distinguish the sound properties of different materials, learn to determine the source of sound, and discover the possibilities for transforming sound (naturally or via a microphone). The aim of these exercises was to enable students to focus their listening and enrich their sonic imaginations.
After 3 classroom workshops, the students discovered a quadraphonic listening device during a final workshop, in the GMEM Module under privileged conditions.
