The show Mostrarium produced by the GMEM will be presented at the PIC-Pôle Instrumental Contemporain in May 2017, as part of the Festival Les Musiques. For this occasion, the GMEM and the Friche la Belle de Mai invite you to participate in artistic workshops led by the two artists of the show...
Mostrarium is a sound and visual album, a discovery of monsters, strange creatures and chimeras...
The proposed workshops will invite the participants to experiment the process of the show and to become its ephemeral creators, in a game of visual and musical creation in live, with the help of a title-bench and an electroacoustic device.
During these workshops, the participants will create their own characters, which they will manipulate and stage in the animated settings of the show (the sea, the forest, the city, the sky). Their creatures will unfold in dreamlike, fantastic universes, short scenes will be invented and projected live on the central screen.
Improvisation and musical creation workshops will be conducted in parallel to realize the music through the manipulation of sound objects, processing and transformation of sound, ensemble playing...
Loïse Bulot
sound and plastic artist
Loïse Bulot builds a dreamlike universe through visual arts and music. After studying piano and graphic arts in Paris, she continued her studies at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Marseille, then at the Conservatory where she obtained a prize in electroacoustic composition.
Her acousmatic music has been performed in various festivals (France, Spain, Germany, Mexico, Canada) and she won the Luigi Russolo 2nd prize for electroacoustic composition in 2014, and the Banc d'essai competition (GRM) in 2015.
She develops her work around different projects: drawing and comics, installations, electroacoustic and mixed compositions, participative workshops.
Nicolo Terrasi
sound artist
Nicolo Terrasi graduated in classical guitar at the Conservatory of Palermo. He developed an experience of research and creation in Sicilian popular music (Tammorra and Ballarò ensembles). He then continued his training in Paris, at the "Georges Bizet" Conservatory in the 20th arrondissement and at the "Alfred Cortot" Normal School of Music. He studied analysis and electroacoustic composition at the CNRR of Marseille where he obtained a diploma with unanimity. He produces music for documentary films, theater and image (installation and exhibitions). His artistic approach sees him engaged in a research oriented as much towards the composition of acousmatic, instrumental and mixed music as towards the practice of free improvisation.
