GMEM is helping to launch the PRISM-CNRS laboratory's HARMONIE* project as part of the ICCARE PEPR (Priority Research Equipment Program).

*HARMONIE aims to break down the barriers between the worlds of scientific research, innovation and art research, by offering a place where cutting-edge digital technologies can be met and shared. Postulating that one of the verrons blocking the acceleration of creative developments in the cultural and creative industries lies in the difficulty for creators to experiment with and apprehend new digital technologies, and that insufficient interaction between research and creation creates gaps in the arsenal of digital tools available to creators, the project intends to base itself on an innovative methodology that associates research and professional communities around a unique experimental platform. This platform will be both a place for experimentation and study of the creative process, whether digital or simply assisted by digital technologies, and also a showcase encouraging the use of the opportunities offered by new technologies.

This launch day will take place in various structures of the Friche, with round tables, art trails, a general scientific restitution, and will close with a cocktail at the Friche's Grand Tables. To mark the occasion, the GMEM is hosting an immersive installation by Lucien Gaudion and Gaëtan Parseihian entitled Transvision.

Transvision is a device consisting of a suspended, vibrating canvas, designed to accommodate 8 people lying down. Sound waves, harmonized with tactile transducers, vibrate locally and globally on participants' bodies. Added to these vibrations is a sensation of floating, due to the participants' movements, blurring the perception of the body in space. The vibrations generate new and disconcerting sensations. Somewhere between sensory saturation and sonic exploration, Transvision offers a synesthetic experience of slowness down to the smallest detail. The body becomes the object of a ritual in which sensory stimuli are harmonized for total immersion.

The whole event is organized by laboratoires deletere and hosted by journalist Adrien Cornelissen.
