Les Modulations invites you to discover sound and musical experiences at close hand with the artists.

Every third Tuesday of the month at Friche la Belle de Mai;
one Sunday per quarter at the Opéra de Marseille.

Elephant! You shake your sheep

Combining the intensity of distorted bagpipe flows with electronics, Annabelle Playe and Harry Gorski-Brown explore rhythmic tensions and invigorating textures through accumulation, decomposition and sonic immersion. A journey on the limits of bagpipes with the infinite potential of electronics, a powerful composition that explores energy in various forms.

Since 2020, Nina Garcia and Arnaud Rivière have been joining forces around a pile of speakers to build music as immediate as it is incandescent. Uncut attacks, amplified scrap metal, caught feedbacks, provoked chances, inviting melodies, counter-points on the line, backwards and forwards: a high-intensity concert!

CONCERT
A Sentimental History of Intervals

Asking the musicians of the Dedalus ensemble about their relationship with intervals, Alessandro Bosetti asked each of them to sing four notes. Based on the resulting harmonic charter, he composed a Histoire sentimentale des intervalles for seven instruments, with microtonal writing and meticulous tuning, exploring a geography of musical pitches.
