- Description of the association

GMEM - Centre national de création musicale was founded in 1972 by a group of composers. It was awarded the Centre National de Création Musicale label in 1997. Its missions are defined in a set of specifications issued by the French Ministry of Culture, and are based on the production of musical creation, dissemination, transmission and research.

Christian Sebille, its Director and founder of Césaré, appointed in 2011, has breathed life into a new artistic project open to all the aesthetics of contemporary musical creation, and is developing a transmission center. In 2017, the GMEM joined the SCIC Friche de la Belle de Mai, at the Module, built to meet the specific needs of its artistic project.

Throughout the year, the GMEM regularly hosts transdisciplinary artistic residencies, produces shows in the field of musical creation, conducts numerous educational, teaching, training and research initiatives, and shares all these activities through regular public presentations.

The annual program is punctuated by the GMEM Season:
- Modulations - a monthly event at the Friche la Belle de Mai, every 3rd Tuesday of the month, and 1 Sunday per quarter at the Opéra de Marseille, a time for convivial sharing around a performance;
- the Propagations Festival in May, dedicated to the multiplicity of forms of sound and musical creation (sound installations, concerts, off-site performances, sound art, musical ballads...); - Delegated productions on tour, in France and Europe.);
- Delegated touring productions in France and Europe;
Residency outings, transmission concerts and other events organized in collaboration with the GMEM's many cultural partners complete the GMEM's dissemination activities.

- Job description

As part of a human-sized team of 11 employees, under the authority of the Administrator, the GMEM is looking for a General Administration Officer to complement its dynamic team.

The position of General Administration Manager, whose main focus is on the administrative, accounting and social management of the structure, may be required to include production management, as part of the restructuring of the production department currently underway.

As a central position, you will be responsible for facilitating and optimizing the day-to-day running of the structure and the service provided to the permanent, technical and artistic teams, for an artistic project of musical creation at the service of innovation and experimentation. Working alongside the administrator, you will benefit from high-quality support.

You will alternate between activities vital to the structure and activities interacting with artistic production. You will be responsible for the structure's administrative, accounting and social management.

You are dynamic, rigorous, organized and have a good sense of priorities, but you also know how to combine flexibility and reactivity when situations require it, and maintain your good humor. You demonstrate discretion and confidentiality in handling the information entrusted to you, and are recognized for your reliability.
