Based on La Ralentie by poet Henri Michaux
"Slowed down, we feel the pulse of things; we snore on it; we have all the time; quietly, all the life.
We gobble up sounds, we gobble them up quietly; all the life.
[...]
We no longer believe we know.
We don't need to count anymore.
We're happy drinking; we're happy not drinking.
We're, we have time.
We're the slowed down."
At the edge of esotericism, this text explores the notion of the border between inside and outside, the intimate and the void.
Divided into two spaces by large panels of openwork paper, where strange shapes drawn by the light emerge, the stage becomes the place where two characters with contrasting attitudes express themselves, observe each other and seek each other out: the soprano, whose speech and singing intertwine to plunge the listener into a dreamlike atmosphere; the percussionist, whose every gesture seems to be born of a powerful and irrepressible inner life.

Pierre Jodlowski
composer
Pierre Jodlowski develops his work in France and abroad in the field of contemporary music. His music, often marked by an important density, is situated at the crossroads of acoustic and electric sound and is characterized by its dramaturgical and political anchoring. His activity leads him to perform in most of the places dedicated to contemporary music but also in parallel circuits: dance, theater, plastic arts, electronic music. He is also founder and associate artistic director of the studio éole and of the Novelum festival in Toulouse and its region (from 1998 to 2014).
His work is now spread out in many fields, and, on the periphery of his musical universe, he works with images, interactive programming for installations, staging and seeks above all to question the dynamic relationships of scenic spaces. Today he claims the practice of an "active" music: in its physical dimension [gestures, energies, spaces] as well as psychological [evocation, memory, cinematographic dimension].
In parallel to his compositional work, he also performs, solo or in group with other artists. He also has privileged collaborations with musicians such as Jean Geoffroy - percussion, Cédric Jullion - flute, Wilhem Latchoumia - piano, for works and research on new lutheries.
His work on the image leads him to develop collaborations with visual artists, in particular David Coste with whom he has developed several projects.
He also works on the writing of the scenic space in works at the crossroads of theater, installations, scenographed concerts or oratorio. Winner of several international competitions, he was awarded the Claude Arrieu (2002) and Hervé Dugardin (2012) prizes by the Sacem. - pierrejodlowski.fr
