Barbarie asks the question with poetry and humor of the relationship we want to maintain with the machine: a battle lost in advance against an insensitive rival or a benevolent and virtuous agreement?
The "enfants terribles of the French quartet" invite the charismatic pianist Wilhem Latchoumia for this extraordinary concert, in which they are accompanied by an improbable and anachronistic orchestra where hurdy-gurdy, mechanical piano and barrel organ rub shoulders with the venerable string quartet and the antique piano.
A completely new musical adventure ground where Albert Marcoeur's crazy rock, Raphaël Cendo's instrumental saturation, Noriko Baba's delicacy and Marco Stroppa's and Frédéric Aurier's elaborate melismas are deployed.

Béla Quartet
quartet
For the past 16 years, the "enfants terribles of the French quartet" have been writing a singular path, between tradition and modernity. Attached to the ancient repertoire of the string quartet, which they defend within the classical programs of excellence in France and abroad (Philharmonie and La Scala de Paris, Mariinsky Theatre, Beethovenfest...), the musicians of the Béla Quartet are committed to inscribing the tradition of the string quartet in contemporary musical life. Their work of commissions and creations in connection with composers of different generations was crowned in 2015 by the International Music Press Prize. The personality and work of Béla Bartók, inspires, guides and leads the Béla Quartet to imagine encounters with eclectic personalities, as witnessed by: If yes, yes. If not, no with the cult rocker Albert Marcoeur, Impressions d'Afrique with the immense griot and late Moriba Koïta, Jadayel with the Palestinian masters Ahmad Al Khatib and Youssef Hbeisch. The Béla Quartet's playing, known for its "diabolical technique" (Télérama) and its musical commitment, has in recent years willingly placed itself at the service of early Central European composers. The quartet's discography has been acclaimed by international critics (ffff Télérama, Luister 10 Award, Gramophone Critic's Choice Award, Prix Charles Cros, Diapason, Le Monde...). - quatuorbela.com
Wilhem Latchoumia
pianist
Wilhem Latchoumia is a singular pianist: he serves contemporary creation and the great repertoire with equal happiness and charisma. Conceiving programs off the beaten track, such is the signature of the French musician, who marks the spirits by his capacity to establish from the start a jubilant connivance with the public. Wilhem Latchoumia's taste for contemporary creation has earned him the favor of composers such as Pierre Boulez, Gilbert Amy, Gérard Pesson, Philippe Hersant, Michael Jarrell, Jonathan Harvey, Pierre Jodlowski, Karl Naegelen, Francesco Filide i , José Manuel Lopez- Lopez, Samuel Sighicelli, Oscar Bianchi, Franck Bedrossian...
He is the instigator and interpreter of creations referring to John Cage's Daughters of the lonesome Isle . He also likes to take part in choreographic projects, the next one being a production of Rosas (Achterland), the company of Anne Teresa de Keersmaeker. Wilhem Latchoumia's latest solo opus, a portrait of composer Manuel de Falla(La Dolce Volta, 2016), received 5 Diapasons, a Maestro from Pianiste magazine, a Joker from Crescendo, as well as the ffff from Télérama. - www.wilhemlatchoumia.fr
