The Journées d'Informatique Musicale is an annual conference devoted to theoretical research and application developments in the field of computer music. It focuses on digital tools for processing, generating and distributing music, in close connection with musical creation (all genres and aesthetics), performance, representation, analysis and music pedagogy.
This 31st edition focuses on the following four themes, in addition to the usual ones: Risset & beyond; Computational musicology; Intersection between computer science and empirical musicology; Immersion, Multimodality, Virtual reality.
In addition to the traditional sessions presenting the work of researchers from a variety of backgrounds, we welcome four guest speakers - Elaine Chew, David de Roure, David Meredith and Marco Stroppa - as well as a workshop on real-time improvisation with artificial intelligence, led by Gérard Assayag.
Activities on Monday May 6 and Wednesday May 8 take place at the Friche Belle de Mai (large plateau), while those on Tuesday May 7 take place at the PRISM laboratory (CNRS campus, 31 rue Joseph Aiguier, conference room).

JIM
Journées d'Informatique Musicale
The JIM are run by the AFIM (Association Française d'Informatique Musicale) and supported by the DGCA (Direction Générale de la Création Artistique). Every year, for several days, the JIM brings together researchers in Computer Music, scientists and various players in the musical world who use computers as a means of expression, as a composition aid or as a pedagogical tool.
AFIM
Association Francophone d'Informatique Musicale
AFIM aims to develop computer music, its relations with other artistic and scientific disciplines, and its international links. In particular, it oversees the organization of the JIM and is a member of the Sound & Music Computing SMC steering committee. The AFIM is open to all those involved in research, creation, analysis and musical education linked to computer science and new technologies.
